Skarloey is the oldest narrow gauge engine on the Skarloey Railway.
Trivia
- Skarloey is the first narrow gauge engine to be released by Bachmann as well as the first character in the Bachmann range to run on N scale track.
- Due to his size, Skarloey has no eye mechanism, and therefore, cannot move his eyes. As a result, he is the first motorized Thomas and Friends character in the Bachmann range that does not move his eyes while in motion.
- Skarloey has open space in his cab to allow a driver inside. He is the first tank engine outside of the G scale range to have this feature.
- Bachmann would later reuse Skarloey’s tooling for their model of his basis, Talyllyn.
